Drama sejarah berlatar belakang di akhir Dinasti Tang selama pemerintahan Kaisar Wenzong, menceritakan reuni yang menentukan dari saudara kembar Cheng Ruoyun dan Chou Yanzhi saat mereka terlibat dalam urusan politik setelah bertemu dengan kaisar muda Li Yan.

Para kasim telah menguasai istana selama pemerintahan Kaisar Wenzong dari Tang. Berharap untuk membebaskan bangsa dari cengkeraman mereka, Kaisar Wenzhong diam-diam merencanakan untuk membunuh kepala kasim Chou Shiliang, tetapi rencana mereka berakhir dengan kekalahan total.

Sinopsis
Pada tahun-tahun terakhir masa pemerintahan Kaisar Jiajing selama Dinasti Ming, Lu Yi (Allen Ren) dari Jingyiwei ditugaskan untuk menyelidiki hilangnya dana yang telah disisihkan untuk perbaikan sungai di Yangzhou. Dia dibantu oleh Yuan Jinxia dari Liushanmen. Keduanya secara tidak sengaja terlibat dalam konspirasi.

Polisi wanita yang berbakat, Yuan Jinxia (Tan Songyun) berselisih dengan Jinyiwei Lu Yi (Ren Jialun) yang pemarah terhadap kasus yang melibatkan mereka berdua. Jinxia berpikir bahwa dia tidak akan pernah bertemu lagi dengan Lu Yi dalam hidup ini. Namun nasib memiliki cara untuk menyatukan dua orang.
